Finding Data

You may be wondering where to find datasets that will be most suitable for your research project. The data ecosystem is often scattered across multiple providers and subject areas, which makes finding what you need both challenging and time-consuming. Data Sources at UPEI (UPEI affiliation required to access)

Data.upei.ca - datasets deposited by UPEI affiliated users

Statistics Canada's Rich Data Services (RDS) - Statistics Canada’s analytical platform for Public Use Microdata files (PUMFs) and their metadata. The interface allow users to browse, interact, and download data and metadata for online or offline analysis. 

 

Canadian Census Analyzer (via CHASS) - Part of the Data Liberation Initiative (DLI) program of statistical tools from Statistics Canada; provides access to Canadian Census Profile Tables by Census Geography and by Census Year; Microdata Files; and Postal Code Conversion Files.

 

CANSIM - Canadian Socio-Economic Information (via CHASS) - Part of the Data Liberation Initiative (DLI) program of statistical tools from Statistics Canada, the Canadian Socio-Economic Information Management System (CANSIM) is Statistics Canada's key socioeconomic database comprised of over 40 million time series and thousands of tables.
