What is the Archive Data Service?
The Archive Data service provides researchers with a space to manage their raw data and associated datasets, and to meet longterm preservation requirements, including Tri-Council mandates and the Researcher's long-term data management needs. Archving data is different from Publishing data in a few ways:
- Archiving Data is assumed to be restricted access when Archived, so only the researcher can access it.
- Archived Data is not assigned additional information like a DOI or data citation, which is achieved by Publishing Data.
- Archived Data is only searchable and viewable by the researcher and the system administrator to facilitate access to the data.
- Archived Data can be Published in the future.
